Amir Dori’s unique exhibition features dozens of handcrafted robot animals with fully exposed mechanisms. Visitors will witness the synthesis of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, accompanied by programmable light and sound. After the tour, a separate ticket is available for a children’s workshop where participants create their own mechanical heroes. The project is implemented with the support of the Mandel Foundation as part of Jerusalem’s cultural program.
After thousands of viewers have already fallen in love, creator Amit Drori’s unique project continues for its second season at Hazira Interdisciplinary Arena (Talpiot, Jerusalem). Come face-to-face with dozens of animal robots, crafted through rare, meticulous handwork spanning thousands of hours.
The real magic? Everything is exposed!
The operating mechanisms of the animals are laid bare: the motors serve as the muscles, the controllers as the brains, and the wiring as the nervous system. An experience where traditional craftsmanship meets technology, enveloped in programmed lighting and sound that will transport you to a mysterious universe where nature and machinery become one.
What comes after the tour? A children’s creative workshop!
Let the kids’ imaginations run wild in the workshop (~45 minutes), where they’ll build their own mechanical animals! The creations will be photographed and featured on Safari’s Instagram gallery, and then the materials will be recycled. An experience of creation and immense satisfaction! (Workshop participation requires purchasing a separate ticket on-site. Free entry for an accompanying parent/guardian.)
