Israeli-ness in the First Person – A Series of Meetings on Identity, Meaning, Tradition and Shared Life

What makes us Israeli? What connects us to tradition, culture and the place where we live, and what happens to our identity when the society around us changes?

In the series, we will meet leading thinkers, intellectuals and social figures, each of whom will bring a different perspective to the questions that concern us all: Judaism and secularism, tradition and the modern world, personal meaning and shared life.

Through big ideas, personal stories, books and questions that have no single answer, we will try to understand what shapes our Israeli-ness in the 21st century, what connects us, and which sources of meaning and hope are available to us in a changing world.

29.10.26 | Dov Elboim

Dov Elboim: Hybrid Israeli-ness – On the Way to a New Jewish-Israeli Identity?

What happens to Judaism when it encounters the Israeli-ness of our time? A meeting about the new and emerging combination of Judaism and Israeli-ness, in all its variety and forms, and about the possibility that this encounter is creating before our eyes a new form of Judaism—Israeli, open and multifaceted.

Tickets for the meeting with Dov Elboim only

31.12.26 | Dr. Micah Goodman

Three formative journeys: the journey of Odysseus, the journey of the Israelites in the desert, and the Buddha’s journey to awakening.

25.2.27 | Noa Manheim

29.4.27 | Jeremy Fogel

Israel 2027 – The Generation of Revival. In 1948, we gained independence. In 2027, we will achieve national revival.

We are a people that “falls and rises.” Every fall is the foundation for the next rise, from which we will emerge stronger and better.
