The parents of teenage Flavia have left Romania to work in Italy, leaving her to fend for herself in the family home. Luca’s parents are also absent most of the time, and he bears almost sole responsibility for his younger sister. The meeting between the two young people, forced to grow up far too soon, gives rise to a close friendship. Together with their friends, they create a kind of alternative family with rules of their own. Amid moments of freedom, joy, and comfort, the life they have built for themselves begins to crack, and the two are forced to confront the responsibility placed on them at an age when someone else should still be taking care of them.
