The Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition is considered one of the most prestigious competitions in its field. Winning one of its main prizes provides a significant springboard for the winning pianists on their path to international recognition. The competition features the world’s finest pianists, aged 18 to 32, and has been held in Israel every three years since 1974.
Many of today’s piano stars began their careers at the Rubinstein Competition, including Emanuel Ax (1974), Gerhard Oppitz (1977), Alexander Korsantia (1995), Kirill Gerstein (2001), Alexander Gavrylyuk (2005), Boris Giltburg (2011), Daniil Trifonov (2011), and many others.
