Directors: Shahar Cohen, Halil Efrat
75 min, Hebrew and Dutch; Hebrew subtitles
Shahar is an unemployed filmmaker who, much to his father Suleiman’s dismay, leads a parasitic lifestyle. In an attempt to push his son into action, Suleiman suggests that he make a film about the Jewish Brigade, in which he served during World War II. Shahar is not enthusiastic about the archaic subject, but his attitude changes when he discovers that his father may have left “souvenirs” with two women he met in the Netherlands—children who may have been born as a result of those encounters.
Father and son set out on a journey following the route of the Jewish Brigade, beginning in Israel and continuing through Italy and Germany to the Netherlands. While Suleiman recounts the story of the Jewish Brigade before the camera, Shahar secretly conducts an investigation of his own, attempting to locate his lost relatives—until a surprising discovery.
