🎭 Book presentation: Giorgio Baffo with Shlomo Krol

🗓 October 22 | 🕑 19:00 | 📍 Babel. Books. Haifa, 10 Khatib Street, Haifa

📚 This literary evening at the bookstore presents an unconventional translation project that brings niche European heritage from the 18th century into contemporary focus. At its center is the scandalous and satirical poetry of the Venetian Giorgio Baffo. Thanks to translator Shlomo Krol’s academic background, combining expertise as a classical philologist and poet, the event goes beyond traditional readings. The program is built around a balance between deep linguistic immersion in the text and a lively, ironic delivery that skillfully conveys the original rhythm and stylistic daring of the source.
