The concert “Magical Flight” will take place on September 5, 2026, at 12:00 at St. John’s Church in Haifa. Baroque meets Argentine tango.
✨ A Magical Flight — From the Grandeur of the Baroque to Argentine Tango
What do Vivaldi and Piazzolla have in common?
At first glance—several centuries, different countries, and completely different musical worlds. But if you listen closely, both share the essentials: rhythm, passion, and the desire to break the silence.
This contrast is the foundation of the concert “A Magical Flight”—a musical journey from the splendor of European Baroque to the sensuality of Argentine tango.
The program brings together Vivaldi, Paganini, and Sarasate, before turning toward Buenos Aires—with Gardel, Galliano, and Piazzolla.
Organ and accordion. Marimba and saxophone. A symphony orchestra.
It is not the most obvious combination of instruments—and that is precisely why it is especially intriguing to hear what happens when they come together.
On stage:
🎼 Nina Kalmens — organ
🎼 Artem Nyzhnyk — accordion
🎼 Nikita Glazomitsky — marimba
🎼 Ofek Barda — saxophone
🎻 Jerusalem Festival Orchestra
Conductor — Vladimir Barshevich
This concert is for those who are interested not merely in hearing familiar works, but in seeing how music changes when it crosses eras and borders.
From the austere beauty of the Baroque to the freedom and intensity of tango. From virtuosic passages to a rhythm that seems to lead the way.
One evening. Three centuries. Music that recognizes no distance between eras.
If you feel like stepping outside the usual concert format, this is a flight worth taking.
