Exhibition: Critical Shared 2026

In a reality oscillating between warfare and ceasefire, between struggles and historical fluctuations, the artists in the exhibition seek to redefine what is urgent, what is critical for the common and the individual.

In the past year, the artists of the incubator worked with communities, in public spaces and individual encounters, in artistic creation whose materials are presence, dialogue, and human interaction. Structures, neighborhoods, and salons operated as studios. Streets served as exhibition and research spaces. The participating artists were selected for a year of guided action by the incubator team and supported by Haifa Museums in their creation processes. They were chosen based on their ambitious and feasible ideas for thorough, research-based, and original identity exploration, each in her specific project, and through collaboration with others in the creative process.

The creation process began amid one war and peaked in the midst of another. The projects aim to gather human forces against the reality and in relation to it, to act upon it rather than being acted upon. To create, to imbue meaning, to insist on the spirit, to activate aspects of existence that become paralyzed in the face of alarms and bombings. They ask questions with exclamation marks, they happen all "in spite of everything." It is art grounded in urgency and a commitment to full version living.

"Critical Common" is an art exhibition insisting on shared identity elements that build society and structure together.
