Yoni Rechter, one of the most important and influential musicians, composers, and pianists in Israeli music, comes to the Eilat Jazz Festival for a festive, one-time performance based on his fourth solo album, “Another Story,” released in 2003. The album is divided into four chapters, centered around “Cracks in the Dark”—a complex instrumental and vocal work influenced by progressive rock.
At the upcoming Jazz Festival, Rechter and his ensemble will perform most of the album’s songs, alongside beloved songs and additional pieces from his extensive musical repertoire. The performance will feature an exceptional vocal layer by the ensemble Pure Intensions, musically directed by Avner Kenner, Yoni’s longtime partner in the duo “14 Octaves.”
Joining the celebration as a special guest is international saxophonist Eli Degibri, who will lend Rechter’s classics his virtuosic improvisational touch. This is an exciting summit meeting that brings together singing, sophisticated vocal arranging, and modern jazz at the highest level.
