Yogev Shitrit and the trio bring to the festival a special performance of rhythmic and captivating Andalusian jazz, following successful appearances in the United States, Europe, Africa, and Central Asia.
Music composed, produced, and arranged by Yogev—a fusion of the traditional music of the home in which he grew up, Andalusian, Moroccan, and Israeli music, combined with contemporary jazz. Expect melodic, rhythmic, and vibrant music.
Yogev Shitrit is an international drummer and composer, with a bachelor’s degree in musicology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Since 2016, the Yogev Shitrit Trio has performed in more than 50 countries at leading festivals and clubs around the world, including the Panama Jazz Festival and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., among many others.
Yogev has recorded three studio albums and two live albums, and is currently working on new music to be performed in the show. He has been active in the international music industry for more than 25 years and is one of the founders of the Jerusalem-based ensemble Coolooloosh, which gained extensive exposure around the world.
