The free expression of jazz, the energy and directness of rock and electronic music, alongside the rich colors of Middle Eastern music—all converge into one fascinating creation in a trio led by pianist and keyboardist Sharon Mansour. Mansour absorbed these influences over the years while performing in pop productions, rock and metal ensembles, as well as DJ sets at leading clubs.
The connection between these influences takes shape in the trio’s debut album, released by the acclaimed German label ACT. Together with bassist Alon Nir and drummer Yehli Stern, Mansour brings an exciting, compelling live performance to the stage, combining tightly crafted arrangements, rhythms and traditions from the Middle East, and free improvisation.
