The greatest hits in new arrangements, a tribute to the greatest female singers of all time, and spectacular performances of songs from the musicals we all love.
Miri Mesika is one of the cornerstones of Israeli music and culture over the past several decades. Since her meteoric breakthrough in the mid-2000s, Mesika has established herself as one of the most beloved, successful, and highly regarded singers in the country, while maintaining a prolific and accomplished career. Her powerful voice, charismatic stage presence, and ability to deliver lyrics with sensitivity and drama have made her a familiar voice in every Israeli home and a symbol of powerful, exposed female singing.
Mesika’s artistic diversity has been expressed over the years through a constant flirtation with musical styles bordering on jazz, cabaret, and French chanson, and has been prominently reflected in her magnificent stage career. Her acclaimed participation in leading roles in classic and modern musicals highlighted her deep affinity for dramatic delivery, complex rhythmic synchronization, and rich orchestrations that provide a natural foundation for the worlds of jazz.
At this year’s Jazz Festival, Mesika presents a spectacular and extraordinary show created especially for the stage in Eilat, accompanied by an expanded orchestra of 16 musicians, combining a supergroup of 12 brilliant jazz musicians with a classical string quartet. In a high-quality, captivating, and moving performance, Mesika will present surprising and theatrical jazz arrangements of her greatest hits, alongside classic songs from beloved musicals and familiar jazz standards, which, under the orchestra’s direction, take on a new, contemporary, elegant, and profound dimension.
