A jazz performance by the Alon Nir Trio, featuring music from their debut album, Names, Places. The performance takes place at De Present in Eilat Port.
“Names, Places – A Musical Travel Diary Around the Globe”
Guy Moskowitz – piano | Alon Nir – double bass, compositions | Alon Benjamini – drums
Double bassist and composer Alon Nir, one of the busiest and most beloved musicians on the local jazz scene, brings material from his critically acclaimed debut album, “Names, Places,” to the festival stage. Written as a musical travel diary spanning years of journeys around the world, the album received exceptional reviews, including a favorable mention in the leading jazz magazine DownBeat and being named “Album of the Month” on French radio station Couleurs.
Nir’s music moves naturally along the axis between the complex and the simple, between the bustling urban environment and the tranquility of the open outdoors, and between one person and another. Together with virtuoso pianist Guy Moskowitz and powerhouse drummer Alon Benjamini, the trio presents warm melodies that touch the deepest places of emotion, alongside complex rhythmic pieces performed with exemplary precision.
Performance duration: 50 minutes
