A theatrical production tells the story of a son who takes his mother out of a nursing home and teaches her Hebrew, while she attempts to pass on to him life lessons and cultural traditions. The play explores intergenerational conflicts, the immigrant experience, and the complex relationship of love and dependency. The Jaffa Theater presentation is performed by an ensemble of Israeli actors.

Theater Story – A Journey Following the Book by Sami Bardogo.
He took her out of the nursing home and wants to teach her Hebrew. And she – his mother – wants to teach him other things. "Hebrew is not a Moroccan native, in the first place – life is in the first place," she reads, and between them develops a mythological intergenerational struggle traveling between Morocco and Israel, between Amida's apartment and the Haifa Library, between what is written and what is spoken, between longing and estrangement, between mother and son. Relations of dependency and struggle for independence. Pride and shame, woven into the monotonous everyday – these are relationships of love and rejection, of an old-timer immigrant and her native-born son.
