Prof. Haim Maor, an artist, curator, and researcher of Israeli and contemporary art, will review the development of art in Israel, from the founding of Boris Schatz’s Bezalel (1906) to postmodern creation. We will examine the major works of Gutman, Rubin, Zaritsky, Danziger, Ardon, Lavi, Tumarkin, and other artists throughout the decades; become acquainted with the styles and themes that characterized each period; and see how art reflects the story of Israeli society.
