A concert bringing together piyyut from Mizrahi Judaism and Hasidic nigunim. The performance will take place at the Be’er Sheva Performing Arts Center, Hall 1.
A unique performance bringing together two central wellsprings of Jewish creativity: the piyyut of the Jewish communities of the East and the Maghreb, and the Hasidic nigun of Eastern Europe. Featuring Naor Karmi, Erez Lev Ari, Shir David Gadasi, Daniel Saadon, and the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra, the performance creates a musical journey crossing communities, traditions, and borders.
Between Safed, Aleppo, Vizhnitz, and Morocco, a shared spiritual language of longing, devotion, and joy emerges. The songs of the paytanim and the melodies of the Hasidim meet on one stage, revealing the closeness between worlds that seemed distant from one another, and breathing new life into centuries-old spiritual treasures.
Through rich orchestral arrangements and soulful performances, a living bridge is woven between East and East—between the lands of the East and Eastern Europe, between piyyut and nigun, and between different traditions united by the same spiritual yearning.
