The play “Chilag Island” is presented without the customary performance of the songs. It leaves the audience alone with the music of Alexander Galich’s poetry itself. In this production, each poem becomes a separate play. Galich was an actor by training and studied under Stanislavsky himself. His work is imbued with theater. This brilliant Russian Jew expressed such force and power of protest and compassion, such uncompromising humor and kind-hearted satire, that it simply could not go unnoticed by the “Emotional Theater.”
