A Female, Personal, and Local Interpretation of the Legendary Jewish-Canadian Creator
What happens when words that have become secular prayers around the world land on the desk of one of Israel’s most fascinating creators?
The Revolution Orchestra and Aya Korem invite you to dive into the depths of Leonard Cohen’s work in a new interdisciplinary show that translates into “Israeli” the classics that shaped generations.
In an artistic dialogue rooted in a shared love of Cohen, Korem and the orchestra give the texts and melodies a bold new Hebrew form. The exposed words encounter the orchestra in a stage format that moves between the intimacy of the writing room and the full power of the concert stage. A mesmerizing musical journey between the sacred and the secular, between Tel Aviv and Montreal, reminding us why these works remain timeless.
