An evening about childhood on a kibbutz, the life we live now, and the heart that is still torn between them.
Shani Hadar, a writer and daughter of HaHotrim Kibbutz. Her first book, Hag HaMishak (The Kibbutz Holiday), is a romantic comedy set on a kibbutz, while her second book, Sdot Goldberg (Goldberg Fields), is a love story set in a moshav in the Lower Galilee. Both books were published by Kinneret Zmora and are bestsellers, much loved by Israeli readers—especially those from kibbutzim.
Chen Rotem is “one of us,” as they say: a singer-songwriter and daughter of Shamir Kibbutz, particularly beloved and well known in the kibbutz community for her songs “Night Watch,” “Friday Afternoon,” and many others.
Shani and Chen perform together, combining songs, stories, and excerpts from their works. It is a moving and funny, warm and intimate performance.
The talk is part of the “Words and Spirit” series.
The performance will take place at Café Philosoph in HaGoshrim Kibbutz.
