About the Activity
North of Jerusalem stands a spectacular mountain rising to 884 meters, home to rich Mediterranean nature and a fascinating history that begins in biblical times and continues through the days of the Palmach.
Join us for an in-depth and enriching tour, specially suited to attentive listeners and lovers of history and nature stories!
In the first part of the tour, we will walk along the trail surrounding Nebi Samuel, enjoy the spectacular autumn blooms, and take in the powerful views of the Jerusalem Hills.
Along the way, we will pass beside a Jordanian Legion outpost that operated until 1967 and observe the location of the Turkish army camp from the days of World War I.
In the second part of the tour, we will visit Nebi Samuel National Park. We will discuss the fascinating figure of the prophet Samuel while standing at Hannah’s Well, tour the impressive residential quarter from the Second Temple period, and delve into the stories of the fierce battles of 1948 and the heroic Palmach.
We will conclude this moving journey with a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view from the roof of the ancient Crusader church.
