Historical tour of the Great Courtyard in Merhavia, October 19–21, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. We will learn about the beginnings of Hebrew agriculture in the Jezreel Valley.
From the European City to the Field in the Valley
Come get to know the Great Courtyard in Merhavia,
the place where the first settlers tried to become farmers and establish agricultural farms that would sustain the Zionist settlement in its early days.
Here, a cowshed, stable, and sheepfold were established; an olive grove was planted; the first silo in the valley was built; camel caravans passed through; and agricultural machines never before seen in the valley arrived.
During Agriculture Week, we will set out on an evening tour of the courtyard and encounter the story of the beginnings of Hebrew agriculture in the Jezreel Valley.
