An intriguing tour at Tel Lachish National Park in the late afternoon hours, during sunset. Participants will climb the tel, discover historical findings, and observe nature and wildlife transitioning from daylight to night. The tour includes guided narration, storytelling, and an interpretive display.
In the final hours of daylight, the hill takes on a different hue, coloring the antiquities and surrounding nature.
During this tour, we will hear and see what happens in the twilight hours—between day and night. We’ll explore what wildlife does in the fading light and whether they visit the site when we aren’t there.
We will begin at the installation that tells the unique story of the tel (hill), then climb the tel (easy climbing). With engaging guidance, we will admire findings that reveal the history of the place and how nature organizes itself for darkness. We will continue walking along the tel’s trails, getting to know the gate, the palace, and the "Demon Tree," and enjoy an interesting interpretive display.
We will conclude the tour in the last light, overlooking views of the Shephelah and vineyards during sunset 🌤️
When: Tuesday, September 29, from 17:00 to 18:45
