A hike through Nahal Prat, visiting Ein Prat, oases, waterfalls, and swimming pools. Participants will walk about 11 km and see aqueducts and scenic views of the Judean Desert. The program also includes a workshop, tea, and homemade uggah.
Hi everyone!
This Saturday, we’ve prepared a route that isn’t very long, but is exceptionally colorful!
A route that combines two elements: the enchanting landscapes of the desert and plenty of water for swimming!
If you haven’t guessed yet, we’re heading to Wadi Prat, with its magnificent oases!
Here are the details: this time, we’ll hike the entire length of Wadi Prat, including Ein Prat and the most beautiful part of the canyon. We’ll start the route in the morning, while it’s still cool, and gradually make our way along the water.
We’ll be surrounded by stunning views of the Judean Desert. We’ll talk about the history and geography of the area as we gradually approach Ein Naqik—one of the largest pools in the river.
From there, we’ll continue along the stream, stopping for swims along the way.
We’ll see numerous aqueducts, reminders of how people dealt with water supply in ancient times. In some places, we’ll descend using metal rungs, admire waterfalls and, of course, take a dip in them!
We’ll stop for a break at pools hidden from unprepared hikers. Traditional tea and homemade ugah will be waiting for us there.
Alongside physical nourishment, we’ll also take in some spiritual nourishment: we’ll hold our seminar on the topic “Why Do People Give Up?”
The route back to the vehicles will follow the river, so we’ll be able to swim right up until the hike ends.
The route is not difficult—11 km—but it does include metal rungs.
