THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA - Mayu Shviro & Nur Bar Goren

Mayu Shviro and Nur Bar Goren arrive at AMAMA with The Old Man and the Sea - a performance combining original music and an animated film inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s novella. Inspired by musical traditions from the East (Azerbaijan and Turkey), classical music, improvisation, and the sounds of nature, the performance is accompanied by an animated film created by Mayo and Micha Israeli, based on her paintings and inspired by Japanese calligraphy. On stage, cello and percussion accompany the film live, creating a multi-sensory experience that invites the audience to immerse themselves in the story through sound, imagery, and the inner world of the work.
