SELAS, a new creation from the Mayumana studio, is an immersive, multisensory experience. This original and powerful show translates the forces of nature into a mesmerizing stage experience of rhythm, movement, and emotion.
This year, Mayumana marks 30 years since its founding—three decades of groundbreaking creativity in a theatrical language identified with the company in Israel and around the world. Within this significant milestone, SELAS was born: a new show that continues to push boundaries and expand the company’s unique language.
Inspired by the four elements—fire, water, air, and earth—the show brings together pulsating music, precise choreography, unexpected humor, and a moving human presence. It is not merely a show, but a total experience of body, sound, movement, humor, and energy.
SELAS (from Greek: the energy of light and intensifying music) draws inspiration from the inner light that drives every movement and expresses the connection between elements, sounds, and people.

“SELAS was born out of a long process of searching and observation. I wanted to return to the basics—to the four elements—and explore through them how to renew Mayumana’s familiar language without losing its unique DNA. All the music in the show is original and was written especially for it, as part of the desire to create a complete world. In a complex period such as this, the very ability to create and bring something new to the stage cannot be taken for granted. It is also a statement about the power of creation and the possibility of allowing the spirit to prevail.”
