Amit and Itai Travel Far and Wide is a dance performance for children about adventures, modes of transportation, journeys, imagination, friendship, and cooperation.

The performance combines movement, singing, text, and origami—a playful exploration of paper through which children activate their imagination and create an entire world. It is accompanied by a magical musical collage featuring Israeli classics.

Following the success of Itai’s Palace, created in 2020 by choreographer Rachel Erdos in collaboration with Uri Lankinsky and Tomer Giat, we decided to embark on another journey with the same characters and create a new performance! (There is no need to have seen the first performance in order to enjoy the second one.)

Rachel Erdos is an award-winning independent choreographer. She graduated with distinction from the master’s degree program in choreography at the Laban Centre in London. She won first place in the prestigious choreography competition of the AICC in Aarhus, Denmark. In 2009, she won the choreographers’ competition of City Dance Ensemble and the Albert Gaubier Award for Excellence in Denmark. In 2012, she received the “Artist of the Year” award from the Minister of Immigrant Absorption for immigrant artists, and in 2014 she received an award from NorthWest Dance Project in Portland, USA. In 2015, she received the Minister of Culture’s Award for Young Artists in Artistic Dance.

Her works have earned critical acclaim, audience appreciation, and international recognition, and have been presented on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Kennedy Center in Washington, The Joyce in New York, and more.

Rachel teaches and leads workshops and master classes. In 2018, she was invited to teach as a guest artist at Brown University in the United States. In 2019, she was invited as a guest choreographer to Catapult Choreographic Hub in Newcastle. During 2020, she collaborated with Panta Rei Dance Theatre in Norway, NorthWest Dance Project in Portland, USA, Company E in Washington, and Backhaus Dance Company in Los Angeles.
