“Lila” musical performance about family, friendship, and change. Recommended for children aged 4–7; duration: 55 minutes.
A cheerful, touching, and imaginative musical about what gives us a sense of support and stability, about family and friendship—and about the ability to accept change.
Little Lila the elephant loves it when everything stays the same. Her home is orderly, her parents are always nearby, and every object has its familiar place. Soon Lila will have a baby sister, but for now her world seems so safe, familiar, and unchanging.
Then, in the middle of her birthday celebration, her parents give Lila some unexpected news: the family is moving. Lila categorically refuses to accept it. After all, this is her home—and she is not ready to leave it so easily!
Together with her friend Guri, Lila comes up with all kinds of amusing, inventive, and touching schemes to try to stop the move. But everything becomes even more complicated, and at one point she finds herself far away from the people she loves most.
An unusual encounter with her grandmother Gloria helps Lila see what is happening in a completely different way. Thanks to her, the little elephant understands that change cannot always be stopped—but we can go through it together.
A musical in which humor and imagination accompany a sincere, warm story about family, friendship, and the invisible supports that help us not be afraid of change.
