A festive performance of songs by the military ensembles at the Smolarz Auditorium, Tel Aviv University. Performances by outstanding students of the School of Music, accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
The Friends Association of Tel Aviv University opens the new year with a festive event—a journey into the world of Israeli culture through songs by the military bands, from the establishment of the state to the present day. Beloved songs from Israeli culture, with refreshing performances by outstanding students and graduates of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, accompanied by a live chamber orchestra. The event will be hosted by actress, singer, and alumna of the Nahal military band, Hani Nahmias.
Among the songs that will move us throughout the journey: “The Other Days,” “There Are Girls,” “What Shall I Bless You With,” “Only in Israel,” “I Had a Friend, I Had a Brother,” “Rise and Walk Through the Land,” “Your Wonders Have Not Yet Ended,” “A Dove with an Olive Leaf,” and “Regards”—songs that are much more than words and melody: they are memories, eras, and moments that have become part of the Israeli mosaic.
