Jazz on the Champs-Élysées Concert in an Ancient Monastery by the Sea by Candlelight

This evening, the ancient walls will fill with the soft glow of hundreds of candles, while the air carries the breath of the sea. And somewhere between the saxophone, the sound of the waves, and the muted hum of the evening city, Paris will begin…

Where every melody is like a memory. Where the bars in which cabaret sounded a hundred years ago are still alive, where swing was first danced—in the light of old-fashioned streetlamps and beside solitary bridges over the Seine.

This evening, the open-air venue of the Armenian monastery by the sea will transform into an intimate Parisian club: instead of neon—hundreds of candles; instead of the city’s noise—the breath of the vast waters beyond the walls.

The Champs-Élysées will resound with the pulse of the double bass, the soft chords of the grand piano, the piercing solo of the saxophone, and the voice of Rinat Goldman.

La vie en rose, like an anthem to the great city, will dissolve into the evening cool and sea air of another shore.

Sous le ciel de Paris—and we are already traveling along the narrow streets of Montmartre, where Van Gogh and Picasso lived.

Rinat Goldman — vocals

Jazz band: Musicians from the Sum Funny Orchestra—a collective bringing together musicians with academic experience at leading theaters and philharmonic orchestras. Today, its members include artists from the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and active participants in Israel’s contemporary music scene.

Please note

The concert takes place at an open-air venue on the grounds of an ancient monastery by the sea. Evenings by the sea can be cool, so we recommend bringing a light shawl or something warm in case of chilly weather.

Please also note that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds.

The monastery entrance is from the Jaffa promenade, not through the Old City.
