For the eighth time, books, charity, and great people will come together in one place. “Fonar” is an event where read books find new homes, and all proceeds go to Chance for Life, a foundation supporting children with cancer.

The theme of this “Fonar” is: out of the bubble. The garage sale has always been a place for people to meet, but this time the organizers want to give everyone an opportunity to step outside their familiar bubble.

If you have never been to “Fonar,” here is how it works:

Through October 12 inclusive, the Chance for Life foundation is collecting used books throughout Israel: in Hebrew and Russian, English and French; adult and children’s books; fiction and nonfiction; magazines and art albums.

On October 16, from 10:00 to 17:30, these books can be purchased in central Tel Aviv in exchange for a donation to the foundation. Prices start at 5 shekels!

“Fonar” will take place on October 16 from 10:00 to 17:30 at 6 Shalma Rd, Tel Aviv.
