What happens to a person who has successively lost everything that seemed, by definition, inseparable from them: their homeland, their generation, their connection to a culture and language, and even the possibility of being right? What action retains meaning after an endless series of subtractions? And can the author’s work and the reader’s labor create something new in place of what has been lost?
All This Is You Now is Demyan Kudryavtsev’s ninth book of poetry. It is a book about what remains when it seems that nothing else exists.
The collection All This Is You Now was published by Vidim Books, an independent publishing house that publishes authors whose works temporarily cannot be published in Russia.
The presentation will take place at the Russian-language bookstore Babel Books Tel Aviv, with its support.
