For the whole family: foraging and cooking in nature on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Tel Zarik in the Megiddo Biosphere Reserve. Foraging, cooking, and eating together.
A foraging and cooking experience in nature for the whole family
Even at the end of summer, when everything around looks dry, the local nature is full of treasures waiting to be discovered, identified, and even eaten.
Join us for an experiential morning in the nature of the Megiddo Biosphere Reserve.
Together, we’ll head out into the field, search for and get to know local wild plants, learn how to identify what can be foraged, discover surprising uses, and get to know the nature right near home in a different way.
And what do we do with everything we forage?
We cook and eat! 🌿🥘
At the end of the foraging, we’ll prepare a delicious meal together from what we found in the field, then sit down to eat and enjoy the produce and the experience.
The activity will be led by Matan Yaakov Golan, a nature and education professional who has been guiding children and adults in connecting with local nature for approximately 30 years.
