Chlorine by Asa Ofek
(Persimmon Publishing)
Chlorine is a short, poisonous novel narrated by an amateur swimmer, a solitary misanthrope at the municipal pool, who repeatedly finds himself caught up in tumult, fury, and turbulent waters.
In his second book, Ofek creates an amusing and grotesque, sensual and sensuous world that sails between blunt, witty realism and virtuosic linguistic skills, and hallucinatory surrealism.
Asa Ofek, born in 1969, is one of the managers of The Third Ear. A story of his was selected for inclusion in an anthology published in German. His first book, Outside (2017), earned him the Minister of Culture’s Prize and an honorable mention in the KKL Prize named after Yitzhak and Rachel Goldberg.
Participants in the launch: Eran Tzur, Efrat Gosh, Doppler Effect, Anat Einhar, Guy Barnea, Efrat Lifshitz, and Yoav Rosen (the book’s editor).
The book will be sold at the venue at a reduced price. Free signing.
Admission is free 🙂
