Ludovico Einaudi — Orchestra by Candlelight

You are invited to a concert of Ludovico Einaudi’s music and contemporary neoclassicism, performed by an orchestra by candlelight at the Tel Aviv Music House.

The music of today’s greatest neoclassical composer. The beauty of a string orchestra’s sound. The flickering light of hundreds of candles illuminating the concert hall.

This evening will feature not only works by Ludovico Einaudi, but also great classical compositions by Debussy, Bach, and other composers whose music has found new life in the interpretation of contemporary neoclassical musicians.

Ludovico Einaudi is an Italian composer and pianist, one of the brightest representatives of neoclassicism. He won audiences’ hearts with his music for the film The Intouchables. The Italian’s poignant and moving music can be heard in iconic films, on social media, and in the world’s finest concert halls. On streaming services, he surpasses Mozart and Beethoven, and his albums break sales records in the “classical music” category.

But neoclassicism was not born out of nothing. At its foundation lie Bach’s harmony, Debussy’s impressionism, and the beauty and depth of the great classical tradition, reinterpreted in the language of the present day. That is why this evening’s program will bring Einaudi’s music together with works by classical composers whose musical voices continue to live on in 21st-century music.

The orchestra will reveal the depth of these melodies in a new way: the grand piano will carry the main emotional line, while the strings will soar to the very ceiling of the concert hall and rise beyond the clouds. Where else, beneath the evening sky of Tel Aviv, in air infused with salt and the scent of the open sea, can you hear Experience, Primavera, Clair de Lune, or Bach’s music amid the flickering light of hundreds of candles?

A representative of the new wave, raised in the traditions of St. Petersburg and leader of the Intuitive Project Jazz Band.

A pianist who performs worldwide. His style combines contemporary drive, complex rhythms, and harmonic freedom.
