Hans Zimmer's Universe: Candlelight Concert in an Ancient Monastery by the Sea

In the glow of hundreds of candles, beneath the vaulted ceilings of an ancient monastery in Jaffa, the music of one of the greatest composers of our time—Hans Zimmer—will come to life.

A string quintet accompanied by a pianist will create a deep, expansive sound that conveys all the drama and beauty of masterpieces from films including Rain Man, The Lion King, Gladiator, The Da Vinci Code, Inception, and many others.

Just imagine the sun setting over the sea to the title composition from Interstellar. Imagine the sound of waves and seagulls’ cries alongside music from Pirates of the Caribbean. This concert captures all the splendor of Israeli evenings.

Hans Zimmer is the recipient of numerous awards, including an Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe. His music creates worlds that one wants to immerse oneself in again and again.

This evening will be a rare opportunity to hear famous soundtracks performed live in the unique atmosphere of ancient stone walls and soft candlelight.

The concert features musicians from the Rishon LeZion Orchestra (the orchestra of the Israeli Opera) and the Philharmonic Orchestra.

At the piano: Sergey Nikityuk
A virtuoso pianist and winner of international competitions. Founder of Sergiy Nikityuk & Jazz Do It, concertmaster and instructor at the Hadera Municipal Conservatory, and author of the album 88 Piano Keys.

Please note: The concert takes place outdoors on the grounds of an ancient monastery by the sea. It may be cool by the sea in the evening, so we recommend bringing a light wrap or something warm in case of chilly weather.

Please also note that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds.

The monastery entrance is from the Jaffa promenade, not through the Old City.
