From the European Dream to the Front Lines of Israel’s Public Diplomacy

A lecture commemorating the events of October 7 that will not leave you indifferent

Oded Nir, an expert on antisemitism, commentator on European affairs, media personality, and musician.

Oded Nir lived in Amsterdam for 20 years, built an international career as a musician, and got to know Europe from the inside.

Then October 7 happened.

During the difficult events surrounding the Maccabi Tel Aviv–Ajax match in Amsterdam, Oded found himself at the heart of the incident, assisting Israelis and gaining firsthand exposure to a reality that changed everything for him. He left behind the life he had built in Europe and returned home—to Israel.

In a personal, fascinating, and at times unsettling lecture, Oded discusses what is happening in Europe—things that we in Israel may still not fully understand:

• Rising antisemitism
• The strengthening of Islamism
• The future of Jewish communities
• Jewish identity and Zionism
• What has changed in the world since October 7
