Culinary tour of Levinsky Market in Tel Aviv–Yafo, along Jaffa Road. We will taste local foods, drink wine, and learn about the neighborhood’s history and culture.
Looking for a one-of-a-kind experience? A culinary tour of Levinsky Market will certainly provide it! You are invited to a refreshing and delicious culinary experience at the fragrant and colorful Levinsky Market—the culinary gem in the backyard that continues to develop while preserving its authentic and unique character.
We will explore its renewed version as a pleasant pedestrian street closed to vehicles, offering excellent flavors seemingly preserved in time capsules alongside new and fascinating culinary ventures that have emerged from the growing pop-up culture in the area.
Come and be intoxicated by the incredible Levinsky Market, filled with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, hipster cafés, bakeries, delicatessens, nut shops, dried fruits, organic and aromatic spice shops, pastry shops, and original, home-style restaurants alongside innovative haute-cuisine restaurants run by young chefs—and everything in between.
We will taste at a magical medicinal-herb shop, enjoy a few crispy bites at an authentic Turkish bakery, savor delicacies from a Yemenite hamara, stop for some deliciously healthy snacks at a home-style Persian kitchen, sample delicacies from the delicatessen that first opened in Salonika in the last century, and, of course, finish with a decadent and sweet American dessert.
Along the way, we will also talk about the magical neighborhood, full of hardships, which continually finds room for renewal alongside its original character; the stories behind the places and how everything began; the people who established the area and made it what it is; and the people who maintain it and make it what it is today. We will also discuss the flourishing street-art scene, the changing population, the developing trend, and plans for the future.
And, of course, throughout the entire tour, we will drink wine and have a great time.
The tour requires a minimum registration of 6 participants.
