Itai Perl doesn’t perform often—he is raising two daughters and managing a bar in Beersheba—and we feel it is our duty to you, the audience who knows how to appreciate what’s good, as well as a great pleasure for us, to invite him back to the festival again and again after his successful performances at previous festivals.
This time, Itai will perform in an excellent acoustic lineup with a guest, Beersheba singer and guitarist Nadav Azulay. Itai will present one of the finest original Hebrew blues-rock-folk performances around.
He has released six studio albums, participated in countless collaborations, and won the prestigious ACUM Award. He is one of the most wonderful singer-songwriters to emerge here. He performs his beautiful songs with superb musicians, a captivating voice, and charismatic stage presence.
Perl’s romance with the blues and the arid south—despite originally being from Safed—began with his fourth and perfect album, Blues Journey, and continued with his fifth album, Arava Hotel. Perl’s sharp lyrics—yes, political ones too—are woven into authentic Hebrew blues from the Negev, beautiful ballads from the Arava, and bursts of Israeli road rock.
His musical work includes ongoing collaborations as a songwriter, composer, performer, and music producer with many of the country’s finest musicians, including Yoni Rechter, Dana Berger, Dan Toren, and many others.
