Jason Rosenblatt—a phenomenal musician and recent immigrant from Canada, performing on vocals, harmonica, and piano—and Dov Hammer, one of Israel’s foremost blues figures, with his powerful, gravelly voice and, of course, harmonica as well, accompanied by an outstanding band, present a heartfelt show of authentic Chicago blues.
The two leading blues harmonica players in Israel join forces for a special performance dedicated to blues harmonica pioneer Paul Butterfield. Butterfield, a virtuoso harmonica player who emerged from the heart of Chicago’s blues scene in the 1960s, was among the first to bring electric blues to a broad audience, turning it into a bridge between traditional blues and emerging rock.
The performance brings to the stage the fiery sounds of the harmonica, electrifying guitar, soulful vocals, and powerful rhythms that characterized Butterfield’s distinctive and innovative sound. Blues classics by Butterfield, as well as by Muddy Waters, Albert King, and even Elvis Presley, will be performed.
