A Candlelit Tribute to Frank Sinatra — Concert in an Ancient Monastery by the Sea

We invite you to a special evening—a tribute to the great voice of the 20th century. Hundreds of candles, a view of the sea from the roof of a monastery, and unforgettable songs: Fly Me to the Moon, Strangers in the Night, My Way, Moon River, and many others.

On this evening, at the historic Armenian monastery in Jaffa, where the air smells of the sea and the city lights dissolve into the darkness, you will hear Frank Sinatra’s legendary songs. The hits we know and love will be performed live by a jazz band and vocalist Tommer Hesseg, whose voice conveys the maestro’s unique style and charisma.

The warm glow of hundreds of candles will create an unforgettable atmosphere, while instead of a concert hall there will be the boundless sky overhead and the distant sound of waves. This is not just a concert—it is a journey through time, where Frank’s music and voice meet the atmosphere of the venue and a contemporary sound.

Together, we will sing Moon River and watch the moonlight shimmering across the surface of the Mediterranean Sea. Strangers in the Night will be performed as the evening city sinks into twilight. New York, New York will shine like the lights of sleepless Tel Aviv. And in the finale—My Way, a declaration of love for life and music.

Performers

Vocals — Tommer Hesseg
An Israeli singer, conductor, and composer. He holds a doctorate in music and is a graduate of the Beit-Zvi School of Performing Arts. He has performed as a soloist and conductor with leading ensembles in Israel.

Jazz band — musicians from the Sum Funny Orchestra
An ensemble bringing together musicians with academic experience from leading theaters and philharmonic orchestras. Today, its members perform with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and are active participants in Israel’s contemporary music scene.

Please note: The concert takes place outdoors on the grounds of a historic monastery by the sea. Evenings by the sea can be cool, so we recommend bringing a light wrap or something warm in case of chilly weather.

Please also note that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds.

The monastery entrance is from the Jaffa promenade, not through the Old City.
