Adele Jazz Tribute in an Ancient Monastery by the Sea

An evening of music, hundreds of candles, and warm sea air on the roof of an ancient monastery in Jaffa.

Under the arches of the Armenian monastery, Adele’s greatest songs will be performed—delicate, powerful, and familiar to everyone from the very first notes. Rolling in the Deep, Skyfall, Someone Like You, Hello, and other hits will take on a new sound in jazz arrangements.

On stage: Sofa Chudnovskaya—a jazz singer, Netflix voice-over actress, and one of the brightest vocalists on Israel’s jazz scene.

Love in the Dark, Easy On Me, Set Fire to the Rain—songs that have always held too much emotion for an ordinary concert hall. Here, they will be performed under the open sky, amid the evening breeze, city lights, and salty sea air.

Keyboards, double bass, live vocals, and the soft glow of candlelight will create an atmosphere in which everything people love Adele for can be felt especially strongly: sincerity, depth, and the beauty of emotion.

Just imagine the poignancy of Love in the Dark among the fading lights of the big city… The sounds of the keyboards dissolve into the sky, amid salty sea spray and the coolness of the evening.

About the musicians

Sofa Chudnovskaya is a jazz singer, multi-instrumentalist, voice-over actress (Netflix), vocal coach, soloist with the Haifa Big Band, and resident artist at Gig House. Previously, she was a soloist with orchestras in St. Petersburg and head of the popular-music department at the Elena Obraztsova Academy of Music.

Gonen Rosenberg is a drummer and percussionist, a graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. For more than 27 years, he was the principal timpanist and percussionist of the Israel Chamber Orchestra, performing at major venues across Europe, North and South America, and the Far East. He studied under the legendary jazz drummer Michael Carvin (New York) and has participated in international jazz and classical festivals.

Sergiy Nikityuk is a virtuoso pianist and winner of international competitions. He is the founder of Sergiy Nikityuk & Jazz Do It, a concertmaster and teacher at the Hadera Municipal Conservatory, and the author of the album 88 Piano Keys.

Valery Rovinsky is a bass guitarist, double bassist, and Chapman Stick player. During his 30-year career in St. Petersburg, he collaborated with more than one hundred ensembles and performed at major festivals. He is a laureate of the international “Tchaikovsky in Jazz” competition. Since 2022, he has lived in Israel, where he actively participates in concert and studio projects.

Please note: the concert takes place in an open-air venue on the grounds of an ancient monastery by the sea. Evenings by the sea can be cool, so we recommend bringing a light wrap or something warm in case of chilly weather.

Please also note that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds.

The monastery entrance is from the Jaffa promenade, not through the Old City.
