We invite you to a special evening by the sea: Sting’s music, hundreds of candles, the ancient walls of an Armenian monastery, and the live sound of a jazz band featuring vocalist Tommer Hesseg.
That evening, Sting’s legendary songs—“Shape of My Heart,” “Englishman in New York,” “Fragile,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Desert Rose,” and others—will be performed in an intimate, warm, and lively jazz interpretation. Not an orchestral spectacle, but a delicate musical tapestry: voice, rhythm section, improvisation, the breath of the sea, and the atmosphere of Old Jaffa.
The evening’s featured vocalist is Tommer Hesseg. His velvety tone and refined sense of style will help you hear Sting’s familiar songs anew: closer, deeper, almost personally.
Just imagine: “Fragile” performed among hundreds of candles; “Desert Rose” resonating with Eastern shades in the heart of Old Jaffa; “Englishman in New York” turning into a story about the freedom of a big city; and “Shape of My Heart” filling the evening with that quiet, piercing romance for which we love Sting’s music.

Performers
Vocals — Tommer Hesseg
An Israeli singer, conductor, and composer. He holds a doctorate in music, is a graduate of the Beit-Zvi School of Performing Arts, and is a soloist and conductor with leading ensembles in Israel.
Jazz band
Musicians from the SymFunny Orchestra project in a jazz ensemble format: artists with academic experience at leading theaters and philharmonic orchestras, as well as active participants in Israel’s contemporary music scene.
Practical Information
The concert takes place in an open-air venue on the grounds of an ancient monastery by the sea. Evenings by the sea can be cool, so we recommend bringing a light shawl or something warm.
There is no bar or café on the monastery grounds.
The monastery entrance is from the Jaffa promenade, not through the Old City.
