Dizengoff in Black and White: Photography Exhibition
A black-and-white street photography exhibition will open on August 13, 2026, along Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv–Yafo, between Ben-Gurion Boulevard and Dizengoff Square.
The exhibition, which was previously displayed on the street five years ago, will reopen on Thursday, August 13, 2026, and will be on view for approximately six months along the stretch between Ben Gurion Boulevard and Dizengoff Square—on both sides of the street.
The “Dizengoff in Black and White” exhibition is presented at the initiative of the Business Promotion and Development Authority of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, whose goal is to promote the city’s street businesses, as part of the municipal policy of encouraging and supporting local businesses.
About the Artist
Yael Rozen is considered one of the pioneers of magazine photography in Israel. She began her professional career in 1968, photographing for Al HaMishmar newspaper, and later became the staff photographer of At magazine, published by Maariv. Throughout her career, she photographed leading public figures, cultural figures, and artists in Israel, alongside distinctive street photographs documenting the bohemian life and everyday scenes of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
The outdoor exhibition, curated by Gili Sivan Cohen in 2021, will feature 35 rare and fascinating photographs from her private archive. The photographs were taken on Dizengoff Street during its vibrant years. Some depict beloved, iconic venues such as Café Casit and Café California, while others feature familiar Tel Aviv figures, including Josie Katz, Shmulik Kraus, Amos Kenan, Hanna Laszlo, and Heli Goldenberg.
