The play "Mareh Ma'al HaGesher" takes place at Merkaz Dohl and tells a dramatic story of an Italian family in America with betrayal, revenge, and justice. The plot follows a miser father and his daughters in the immigrant centre. The performance is open to the public and sign‑language translation can be arranged. The ticket price is 20 ₪.
In a neighborhood of Italian immigrants, near the harbor in Brooklyn, they raise Eddy Carbona (Natan Detner) and his wife, the daughter of his sister. Two cousins who entered America illegally arrive at the house. This is the story of a dedicated and loving “father,” who, in a desperate attempt to keep the “daughter” to himself, is ready to sacrifice his family, his self‑respect, and his life. It is a story of terrible passion, betrayal, revenge, and of primal, natural justice versus the judicial systems of a corrected society.
