Bassist and composer Oz Yehiely leads a quintet that brings together contemporary jazz, groove, funk, and influences from African and psychedelic music. The music moves between original compositions and open spaces for improvisation, with the bass and the live connection between the musicians at its center. The performance is built around listening, spontaneity, and energy — music that can be deep and minimalist one moment, and driving and exhilarating the next. The ensemble and its repertoire are currently evolving toward the performance, leaving the format open and allowing the music to develop in real time.
