Plot
Tuvia, a poor Jew with five daughters, strives to support his family according to religious commandments and traditions while living in a Christian environment whose influence is growing. He finds it difficult to meet the wishes of his older daughters, who are shaped by modern education, and the suitors they choose do not satisfy him. Beyond everyday hardships, the family receives a deportation order demanding that all Jews in the city leave the home where they were born and have lived.
The celebrated musical, rooted in Shalom Aleichem’s tales, is delivered in an impressive production, with a fresh, sensual direction and an orchestra conducted by Yossi Ben‑Nun.
