Children's Show: "Mitzvah of Being a Daughter"

"מצווה להיות בת" is an autobiographical children's play that tells the story of a girl named Yulia who immigrated to Israel from Kyiv at the age of seven. The play reveals the lineage of women in her family through a Matryoshka doll. The performance is infused with storytelling, humor, and nostalgia for childhood.

A show developed within a reserved spaces lab, guided by Sharon Gabayelov.
At the end of the show, there will be a workshop for making a personal Matryoshka doll from recycled materials.

**Synopsis:**
An autobiographical show about a girl named Yulia, who immigrated to Israel at the age of seven from chilly Kyiv. She brings with her a suitcase filled with memories, nostalgia, and fragments of past life. One of the memories is embodied in a wooden doll - a Matryoshka. Through opening the doll, the lineage of women in the family is revealed, all of whom have a common trait: they are only daughters.
Using storytelling, humor, and longing for childhood, Yulia unfolds a personal-family story that evokes comfort and identification among children like her - those growing up between two languages, with a deep connection to their mother, grandmother, and heritage passed down.
