The 'Lit Fields' project offers positive engagement for teenagers in the evening hours through sports activities. The aim of the activity is to prevent loitering and violence by creating an open and safe space, and it takes place in sports fields staffed by educators.
**About the Activity:**
The "Lit Courts" project by the "Chalutz – Education through Sport" organization is a unique initiative operating in various neighborhoods and local authorities across Israel. Its goal is to offer teenagers positive and quality employment during evening and nighttime hours, with an emphasis on the summer period.
As part of the program, public and/or school sports courts are staffed by certified instructors who are primarily educators. The activities – which include training sessions, friendly matches, and neighborhood tournaments (such as soccer leagues) – prevent loitering and violence, providing teenagers with a safe, accessible, and cost-free space close to home. Beyond the sports experience, the lit courts serve as a platform to strengthen the local community, develop young leadership, and instill values of tolerance, mutual respect, and fair play.
In Greater Kfar Shalem, the project will take place at the external sports court of the Neve Eli'ezer Community Center.
