When the month of Elul arrives, an extraordinary atmosphere of Selichot envelops the ancient alleyways of Safed, one of Israel’s four holy cities.
Join us for an exciting and awe-inspiring night tour (or morning tour) in the heart of this northern city, where the heart opens and the unique sounds of the Month of Mercy and Selichot echo among the ancient stones.
During the tour, we will walk through the picturesque and wondrous alleyways, delve into the world of ideas found in the teachings of the Zohar, and hear the tradition of the liturgical poems and prayers that have accompanied the Jews of Safed throughout the generations.
We will visit the city’s most famous and moving synagogues, including the Abuhav Synagogue and the Ashkenazi Ari Synagogue.
Among the ancient walls, we will discover the stories of the city’s sages and Kabbalists and gain a close understanding of the special, profound connection formed here between people, spirituality, and the Galilean nature surrounding Safed.
