A sharp and moving comedy about a determined woman who cannot stand dirt.
The local elections are approaching, and the powerful longtime mayor, Moshe Schwartzman, is worried that no candidate dares to run against him. Without an opponent, there is no campaign—and without a campaign, the donors’ wallets remain closed. Besides, people might start calling him a dictator, while democracy is his guiding principle.
So what can be done?
To create the appearance of a fair election, they must find a fictional candidate—someone “whose own family would be the only ones to vote for them, and even they would hesitate first.”
When the cleaning woman enters the office and starts cleaning, it is clear to everyone that the perfect candidate has been found. Her name is Ilana.
And she is here to stay!
